I created Nerd-Vault with the intention of teaching myself how to self-host applications. Over the last year of owning this and the help of friends and family. My knowledge of linux, docker, grafana, and prometheus has impressed myself sometimes. Hopefully soon Ill get my github working and publish my docker compose, linux service, and grafana dashboard config files.
Completed Projects
- Built Dell R720 Host with GTX 1070 with proxmox
- I have multiple ZFS pools configured in a mirrored setup.(28.6 TB of storage)
- GPU passthrough on multiple LXCs and VMs.
- Nginx Reverse Proxy Manager configured and used for all web pages.
- Installed and set up NextCloud for the vault. Accounts utilize 2FA for security
- Custom Grafan pages for monitoring host performance and application statistics
- Fail2Ban is configured on all login pages linked to my DNS provider to ban IP’s that repeatedly keep failing login authentication.
Current Projects
- Rebuilding Grafana pages to have more useful and interactive data.
- Configuring a 3-2-1 backup method for config data.
- Learning Terraform for easy deployment for “Default” machines for testing.
- Building Nested vCenter/ESXi cluster for VCP-DCV lab.
Future Projects
Working on learning more about data gathering and outputting of metrics from hosts.
Possibly setting up either HA or failover method for the host.
